About HectareCalculator.com
A free land area conversion tool built for Indian land units.
About Us
HectareCalculator.com is a free set of land-area conversion tools built for people who deal with Indian land records — farmers, landowners, real-estate professionals, students, and anyone who needs to convert between Hectare and units like Bigha, Acre, Guntha, Cent, or Square Feet.
Why This Site Exists
Indian land records are officially maintained in hectares, but everyday conversations, farm-level decisions, and property transactions often use traditional regional units — Bigha in the north, Guntha in Maharashtra and Karnataka, Cent in the south. Converting between them by hand is easy to get wrong, especially because these regional units are not the same size in every state. This site exists to make that conversion instant and transparent.

How Our Numbers Are Prepared
International units (Hectare, Acre, Are, Square Meter, Square Foot) use fixed, universally standard conversion factors. Traditional Indian units (Bigha, Biswa, Guntha, Cent, Dismil) vary by state, so we list them per state rather than using a single national number. See our Methodology page for details and sources.
Limitations
This is an estimation tool, not a legal or survey instrument. Actual plot boundaries and areas can differ from calculated conversions due to local surveying practices, historical measurement differences, or record-keeping errors. For any legal, financial, or government-submission purpose, verify the exact area with your local Patwari, Tehsildar, or your state's official Bhulekh/land-records portal.
