Square feet suit buildings and plots you can walk across. Hectares suit farmland and anything a revenue office has to record at scale. Property paperwork routinely contains both, which is why the conversion comes up so often.
One hectare is roughly 107,639 square feet. The number is awkward because it crosses between metric and imperial systems, and no amount of rounding makes it tidy.
Running the conversion
